Angul sizzles at 42.1 degrees Celsius, Bhubaneswar second hottest, check latest weather update

Angul became the hottest spot in the state with daytime temperatures hitting 42.1 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Odisha Capital recorded the second highest temperature of the day at 41.7 degrees Celsius.

According to the latest weather report, 22 locations in the state recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees or more.

Dhenkanal, Deogarh and Boudh recorded a temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius while Bolangir, Paralakhemundi, Cuttack and Baripada recorded 41 degrees Celsius.

According to the midday weather report from the IMD regional center in Bhubaneswar, the sky in Bhubaneswar, which remains mostly clear during the day, will become partly cloudy towards the afternoon/evening.

The meteorological agency said the maximum temperature (daytime temperature) is very likely to gradually increase by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius at many places in the districts of inner Odisha over the next three days.

“Due to the northwest-west dry air and high solar insolation, the maximum temperature (daytime temperature) is very likely to gradually increase by 3-5°C at many places in the districts of inner Odisha over the next 3 days and no significant change thereafter over the Odisha districts,” Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center said in a statement.

“Therefore, the maximum temperature (daytime temperature) is likely to be above 40°C in many places in the districts of Odisha and likely to be above normal by 2-4°C over the next 2 days in Odisha districts and likely to be above normal 3-5°C over inner Odisha districts in the following 3 days,” he added.

IMD further stated that heat wave conditions are highly likely in isolated locations in Sonepur, Boudh and Bolangir districts on April 25, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir and Mayurbhanj districts on April 26 and Sonepur, Budh, Bolangir. , Mayurbhanj and Kalahandi on April 27, 2022.
