By Ruben Morales Iglesias: The Belize Lantern at the National Taiwan Lantern Festival highlights the Great Blue Hole, Belize’s cultural and marine ecosystems.

The Belize Lantern at Taiwan’s National Lantern Festival highlights the Great Blue Hole and Belize’s cultural and marine ecosystems, the Belize Embassy in Taiwan said.

On Tuesday, the Belize Embassy hosted the Belize Lantern Dedication Ceremony at the National Taiwan Lantern Festival in Belize City’s sister city Kaohsiung City.

Ambassador Dr. Candice Pitts thanked Taiwan for the platform the Lantern Festival provides by exposing visitors to an important cultural element of Taiwan and exposing Taiwan to the cultures of Belize.

The theme for the Belize lantern is “BELIZE: Where the Heavens Kiss the Earth”.

“Often considered one of the most amazing places on earth, the Great Blue Hole is a renowned recreation spot among divers due to its crystal clear water and several species of fish,” the Belize Embassy said. .

Ambassador Pitts invited everyone present at the Belize Lantern Launch “to visit Belize and see that God is truly favoring this beautiful country.”

The Belize Embassy thanked everyone who attended the Belize Lantern Dedication Ceremony as they help promote Belize’s image and Belize-Taiwan relations. The Belize Embassy made a special mention of Sheng Cheng-Tsung, General Manager of MOFA’s Southern Taiwan Office; Lin Hsin-Ren, Deputy Director General of the Tourism Bureau; Shan Bing Ho, Director General of International Affairs of Kaohsiung City Government; and the Central American Trade Office of Taiwan (CATO).
