Calgary weather for Thursday, September 1

For many, the feeling of warmth in this forecast lines up something like my facial expression captured here:

Last month had 25 days above the season, four below, and two that matched their seasonal values, which equates to ending us four degrees above the season.

While September holds for a little while, it is by no means a permanent state. Some looks at our 10-day forecast show the trend below (I’m almost done with the tweets today, I promise) is breaking in a big way.

If you’re done with the heat, this high pressure ridge has a close date in mind, and it looks like we won’t have ten days in the month without single-digit low temperatures. For now, however, the sun prevails, and the only ripple in an otherwise cloudless forecast is today. The cold front pass aims to generate gusts in the 40s today… and that’s about the most exciting thing going on.

As for the image (and its question!) at the top of the article… let’s wait a bit. Now that the weather fall has begun, the digging begins.
