He also advocates for breaking down the “systemic barriers that keep people poor, and take action now for the climate.”

The letter was launched by Global Citizen at its inaugural Thought Leadership Summit, which took place over the weekend.

The event took place in New York.

The A-listers call on leaders to “step up their efforts by fully committing the funding needed to address the challenges we face.

“We need to improve opportunities for girls around the world, remove systemic barriers that keep people poor, and end the climate crisis.

“But we can only succeed in solving these problems by removing the barriers that have stopped us from ending extreme poverty and committing to levels of funding that will enable real, lasting progress and not just a temporary fix” , reads the letter.

Global Citizen shared the letter on its Instagram page.
