CANTON, MASS. (WHDH) – Friday’s storm left behind an abundance of fresh powder on the slopes of the Blue Hills ski area in Canton, delighting children and parents alike.
“I couldn’t be happier, it’s so good to be here, I love it it’s beautiful,” said skier Greg Gatlin.
As the cleanup ended off the slopes, some families ended the first big day of snow with skiing and snowboarding under the night sky.
“I couldn’t really believe it because it had been so long since we had that much snow,” said skier Addie Burdette. “So it was really fun being able to wake up with all the snow and not have a school. “
All this snow on the ground forced many school districts to close, which allowed the children to have fun.
“It was really fun that we were going to play outside at age 12,” said Elli Gatlin. “Yeah, I woke up around noon and we went tobogganing and I was glad we didn’t have school today,” added her sister Kaia Gatlin.
Some are now hoping that this storm is just the start of a hectic ski season.
