Ryan Tedder says climate crisis stress is ‘costing me sleep’

One Republic star Ryan Tedder has said the climate crisis is one of the things keeping him up at night.

In a recent interview on the Australian Podcast Smallzy Surgery, the prolific songwriter and producer spoke about “I Ain’t Worried,” the hit single he wrote for Top Gun: Maverick.

After discussing topics like independent sensibilities in contemporary music on the charts, as well as how he came to write “I Ain’t Worried,” host Smallzy asked Tedder what he was up to. has been worried.

He said he wasn’t worried about issues such as getting older (“was worried, more worried”), or having a clean house when guests came (“not worried – my wife, very worried”).

Smallzy then asked him if he was worried about climate change: “The planet is getting warmer, it’s crazy.”

“Very worried,” Tedder replied. “It literally causes me stress which then costs me sleep. I am really worried about our climate and our planet.

Celebrities have come under intense scrutiny in recent months – as countries around the world experience record high temperatures, droughts and wildfires – for their use of private jets.

Earlier this week it was revealed that members of the Kardashian and Drake family would be among the biggest offenders when it comes to taking disproportionately polluting short flights on private jets, according to a new analysis.

Kim Kardashian’s private plane has flown four times under 20 minutes in the past two months, according to data from a celebrity flight tracker @CelebJets. The private plane belonging to her half-sister, Kylie Jenner, did twice as much, the tracker found.

A July 24 flight saw Kardashian’s plane take a 40-mile, 10-minute trip from Van Nuys to Camarillo, California. The trip required 81 gallons of fuel and emitted 1 tonne of carbon dioxide (CO2) – roughly the same amount a gasoline-powered car emits for six months.
