With an excessive heat warning in place until 8:00 p.m., high temperatures reached the un-teens again this afternoon. Temperatures will stay in the triple digits well after sunset. A gusty northwest wind of 15-20 MPH will be present throughout the evening and gusts of 30-40 MPH along the highway.
The Coachella Valley saw waves of humidity throughout the week while slowing the drying. We will reverse the trend on Saturday and feel the humidity rising throughout the weekend.
Dew point temperatures will only continue to climb on Sunday, well into the 60s, creating muggy weather near the weekend.
So while temperatures will tend to drop throughout the weekend, we’re trading heat for higher humidity. The possibility of thunderstorms in the mountains and deserts of Riverside County joins the Sunday forecast, with a better chance of arriving Monday/Tuesday.
